Cat Temper
An auditory landmark of the year that was and the year to come. Played solely on piano with human expression and a repeating percussive nod to our developing relationship with artistic automatons. (At least how I hear it.) The chordal arrangement gives me suggestions of hope, melancholia, and a determination to face what follows with fortitude.

Happy New Year! 🥳
A year ago today, on my 46th birthday, I released “Twenty Three Once More”, and in its release notes I wrote:
“Sometimes I'm wondering whether [we’re] the last generation of real musicians, as music has been and will be made more and more by machines. And, one day, AI will take over entirely.”
I had now idea AI would get available to general public that very year, taking over all kinds of human activies. But I went on:
“I'll keep doing my best to prove nothing can ever replace the human touch but there's always the imporant second part of the equation: listeners. If they – you, we – don't care, don't cultivate the ear for humanity in art, we're doomed. You've been doing fine so far; if you're reading these very words you do care and that's what counts after all.”
You and me have been doing exactly that for the whole year. My connection to The Source of Beautiful and Deep Music, whatever and wherever it is, has even deepened in 2023, you’ve been following the path with me, you caree, listened, and shared, and appreciate it, your attention and you very, very much.
This new New Year’s track of mine, “47 Chords, Same Note”, might not sound optimistic, because it reflects on the overall situation, but it remains hopeful – and, of course, deep, as always with those of my creations I release as Binaural Space.
I deliberately don’t use any modern machines that make musicians’ lives both easier and similar, if not average. Arpeggiators, sequencers, generative devices, AI-powered tools, you name it. I played the whole track on a triumphant old music machine: real piano, an old, untuned, tried and tired piano which, together with my way imperfect playing, would make it impossible for A.I. to immitate – at least for now.
I hope you like the music.
Thank you very much for your support in the previous year, have a happy, safe and healthy new one, and expect some wonderful, beautiful and exceptional music from us – my labelmates and me – in 2024. You have some really fantastic music to look forward to and I can’t wait to start sharing it with you.
Binaural Space, January 1, 2024, Bohemian-Moravian Highlands
Ambient traditionalists say to Binaural Space what the Emperor said to Mozart: “Too many notes.” In both cases, the rest of the world tends to disagree.
Great album that doesn't take itself too seriously but stands the test of multiple listens anyway (just yesterday I enjoyed a 2-hour drive accompanied only with the 4 pre-released tracks tremendously) Binaural Space
Fun, multi-genre album full with motley ideas in the best sense of the word, with that typical melodic and harmonic magic only ACY can provide. Currently my fav ACY album – and that's something! Binaural Space
Powerful and yet intimate, deep and yet full of light, haunting but optimistic. This EP has a special atmosphere thanks to the brilliantly selected timbres and sounds... and the vocal. Great name, too Binaural Space

filled to bursting with horror and bugs, but also extremely addictive synth and guitar work. instances of industrial synth and gothic rock, with a terrible feeling of dread permeating it that I adore. so much to love in such a small package. very solid, sinister release. palehorse666
