Four years today, on June 1, 2019, we released Flying Bohemian's debut album Joyrides, and Binaural Space, the label, has started.

The album – upbeat, joyful, cool, fresh yet familiar, catchy, brave, wonderful, perfect, feel-good... (I'm just citing its reviews) has been found by many enamoured fans since then, also thanks to its three (!) cassette editions which sold out immediately. And we've always loved it deeply because it really was perfect.

But was it? 🤔

We've had just one issue with it: It was TOO perfect. Its sound polished to perfection which was almost clinically pure. So the two of us, Flying Bohemian and me, have been playing with an idea of remastering it analogically for a couple of years.

But we might have never actually done it...

...if it wasn't for The Batman.

We both saw it last April and we agreed on three things:

First, it was too dark. The production design team didn't deserve such a dim movie hiding all their creations.
Second, the Batmobile was soooo cooool – and it actually looked like a car!
Third, the Batmobile was clearly missing at the album dedicated to dope movie cars.

And so, because we'd been working on our collab album anyway, we sat down in the studio and made a new track for the album together. It's supposed to be darker and rougher than the rest of the tracks, and we had much fun making this composition, borrowing elements from not just synthwave, but also instrumental hip hop, dark ambient, techno, and other genres.

To remaster the whole album on analog equipment was then an imperative and we're happy to observe that we succeeded: All the tracks are now both rawer and warmer at the same time. Check them out for yourselves and you'll know what I'm talking about.
